Lately the A/C has been shutting down, intermittantly.

Question:
I have a 2004 Chrysler Sebring Convertible. Lately the A/C has been shutting down, intermittently. it will work fine sometimes...then others (like last night),nothing! I don''t think it is the cold air (freon or whatever they put in.....as it''s not like it blows warm air....) it''s something related to the blower I think...since when it works...it blows cold air...when it doesn''t...nothing comes out! PS I''m in Florida...so we need the A/C! Please help.
Answer:
If the fan works on high only then you need to have the blower motor resistor replaced. ( this is when it does work ) and if it doesn't work on any fan speed at all ( when its not working ) then you need to have the blower motor itself replaced ( internal contacts are worn ) .

I tried replacing my front brake pads

Question: I tried replacing my front brake pads and passenger side rotor. I bleed the brakes and replaced them the same way I took them off, but now the front brakes aren''t working at all and the brake lights and other lights in the car are on. I have to push the brakes to the floor to get them to stop and it feels like its just not catching. My car is a Nissan Armada 2005. What did I do wrong? Answer: You do not need to bleed brakes when just replacing pads and rotors. More than likely you bled them wrong. You should take it to a local garage and have them bled properly and all will return to normal. The reason your foot goes to the floor and the lights are on is there is air in the system. Bleeding the brakes properly requires two people. One to pump the brake pedal and hold it down while the other releases the pressure from each caliper and tightens it back before the pedal is pumped again. This is done until no air comes out, just fluid And requires a constant eye on the reservoir to make sure the fluid level stays full during the entire process. One wheel is to be done a t a time and you start with the furthest wheel away from the master cylinder. Again, have it done. It is cheaper than if you run into the back of a car.

THE HORN DOES NOT SEEM TO WORK

Question: I HAVE A 1998 RODEO AND THE HORN DOES NOT SEEM TO WORK AT ALL TIMES. I PUSHE THE CENTER OF THE STEERING WHEEL AND DONT ALWAYS GET A RESPONSE. WHY? Answer: A simply test will let you know if it is the horn or the horn button that is failing. Run direct power to the horn and make it sound repeatedly if it works perfect every time then your horn button needs to be replace as the contacts are worn passed usable condition. If the does not blow every time, replace the horn relay, it is bad. There is a slim chance that the coil spring in the steering wheel is bad, but not very likely.

Got Curtain Cling?

We have all been looking for new inovative products to make our life easier. For example the Adjustable Wrench, Vise Grips, the TV Remote.... you get the picture. Many of us are out there looking and waiting for new products to present themselves while others do all the creating and thinking. Well pay close attention, cause I'm about to tell you about another simple device that can be added to the list. The best thing is that it is inexpensive as well. It the all new ShowerBow! What the heck is a Shower Bow? Weighing less than 2 lbs, it safely expands any standard curtain on any standard rod, even tension rods. Just be sure that your current rod is properly installed. ShowerBow installs in seconds. It just snaps onto your existing rod. It is a simple counterweight that tips out (without lifting the curtain from the tub) and holds the curtain away to create more space at elbow and knee level. Then, it tips back with just a nudge, so unlike curved rods, it won't crowd the rest of the bathroom. And because ShowerBow works inside the curtain, it is practically invisible from the outside.

ShowerBow was developed by first time inventor Patrick Raymond, who invented it one day while standing in the shower. Why put up with clingy curtains, he wondered? Start the day off right with more space, instantly.

Unlike a curved curtain rod, the ShowerBow tilts back into the tub area with a gentle push, getting it out of your face in a small bathroom with the toilet close to the tub. When I first installed one, in minutes, the light shower curtain liner pushed out too far: no problem, another couple of minutes and I converted over to the included "short" ShowerBow tilt for the weight. Very well thought out! The end of the bow that snapped into the tilt was even labeled with which side went in first. So much easier than using bottles to hold the liner from billowing into the shower and that extra space is great. I can finally turn and face the shower head with rubbing elbows with rubber. There is a chassis groan that my mechanic cannot find

Question:
I have a 2002 Ford focus S/W with 48K miles. There is a chassis groan that my mechanic cannot find. It seems to be coming from the right front. All bushings and fittings are fine. CV joints fine. Struts fine. It seems to be worse when making a slow right turn.
Answer:
If the while driving and you swerve back and forth from right to straight to left to straight and the pitch of the groan noise changes at all, then your front hub bearings are at the beginning stages of failure and should be replaced. I recommend replacing both if needed.(quite common to failure) If it is more of a clicking noise then it would be the cv-shaft internally. If it changes when hitting a bump, it would be sway bar bushings, or ball joints.

Can I replace the air conditioning compressor myself

Question: 1996 ford F150 5.8ltr extra cab - Can I replace the air conditioning compressor myself and run the motor without it being charged just to take it somewhere to get charged. I was quoted 1000.00 to fix it and kragen has the compressor and accompanying parts for about 200.00? Answer: Warning: A/C systems are under High Pressure. Take all safety precautions when servicing the system. You most certainly can replace your compressor yourself. The compressor will not kick on until it is filled with freon. Also, ask the parts dealer if the compressor comes already filled with oil... If it does not, be sure to tell the repair shop that is going to re-fill the freon. Keep in mind most auto parts places require you to replace the accumulator and orifice along with flushing the system in order for the warranty to cover the new Compressor. Where are the spark plugs on a 1998 Kia Sportage?

Question:
I have a 1998 Kia Sportage and would like to change the spark plugs myself. Can you tell me where the spark plugs are?
Answer:
If you open your hood and look at your valve cover you will see your spark plug wires. Remove the spark plug wires and the spark plugs are down in the center of the valve cover, in the head, inside tubes. Use a 5/8" spark plug socket to remove them. Do this with the engine cool to avoid causing damage to the threads.
