oil pump for a 1991 3.0 Ford V-6

Question: I have disassembled an oil pump for a 1991 3.0 Ford V-6. The pressure relief valve, in front of the spring, fell out, and I couldn''t see which way it went it. Does the end with the "point" go first, or the other way around? Answer: The pointed end goes first, See Diagram.
