Cracking Up

You would think that married oysters would lead a far better life than us humans do. But after a short study I found it to be quite the same. Every time the husband oyster came home from work he was complaining about his wife just laying around all day. And on weekends the Wife oyster would complain saying the say thing, "all you do is lay around all day and you never open up to me" OK, there was supposed to be a joke there but if you have a good marriage you probably don't get it. If you are laughing then I guess you know what I am saying... All joking aside I have come across this site about Gulf oysters that any and everything oyster you could want. Tons of people like to eat oysters. Whether you eat them in moderation or by the dozen, these delightful mollusks provide a low calorie protein that are an excellent source of zinc, vitamin B-12, and omega-3 fatty acids. So this site has even added Oyster Recipes!

Connecticut Lemon Law Information

The Connecticut Lemon Law applies when, during the first two years or 24,000 miles (whichever comes first), following delivery of a new vehicle: 1) the dealer has attempted to repair the same problem four (4) or more times. However, your car may also be eligible if you have less than four repair attempts for the same problem and can justify this is a reasonable number of repair attempts, and repairs have been performed within 2) the eligibility period, or 3) the problem is a safety defect which is likely to cause death or serious injury if the vehicle is driven, and the defect continues to exist after two or more attempts during the first year, or 4) the vehicle has been out of service for repair at the dealership for a cumulative total of 30 days or more, for any number of unrelated problems. To qualify for the Lemon Law, the defects must not have been caused by the consumer's abuse, neglect or unauthorized modification of the vehicle.

Code P0302 - Misfire

Customer Problem:
Customer brought in his 2003 VW Passat. He said it had the check engine light on and was running rough. In fact the check engine light was flashing on the dash.
Solution:
Performed computer diagnostics with our shops scan tool and retrieved the code P0302 which indicated a misfire on cylinder #2. This is typically a failed coil as this vehicle has the coil on boot setup. So we replaced the #2 Coil and that took care of the misfire. As a maintenance measure we replaced the spark plugs at the same time as it had 77,000 miles on it. The vehicle runs smooth now and the customer is happy. Computer diagnostics cost was $69.95 and the coil installed was $110.05 , total was $180.00 + tax.

power windows

Question: I''m having a problem with my power windows. They stopped working and after pushing the buttons a number of times they started working again. A week or so later they stopped working and now I still can''t get them to work. I need to know if the problem could be in the power distribution box with the fuse. My power seat still works but didn''t know if they are tied in together. Or is it in the switch controls on my arm rest... Optional Information: 2000 Ford explorer v8 Already Tried: checked the fuses Answer: If all the windows are having an issue of not going up, then it is most likely the control module(drivers door switch unit) or the window motor breaker. If it is just happening with one window ( most likely the drivers window as you use it more often) the the window motor needs to be replaced.

Spark Plug Boots Blister

Question:
what would cause the spark plug boots to blister on 2 plugs at the tip of the plug . 3 sets new wires . 135000 miles 2002 Chevy express 3500 5.7
Answer:
Maybe the spark plugs themselves, have you moved those plugs to a different location or just replaced them ........ How about the obvious, leaking exhaust manifold gasket ? or cracked manifold leaking exhaust gases out onto the plug boots!!!
You may not hear the exhaust leak like normal , it may just sound like a miss, you may be at the beginning stages, look for blackish carbon around the manifold where the two plug boot keep getting effected. The spark plugs may be cracked and arching. Wrap electrical tape around the boots. That might be the cause of the miss. Also if there is an exhaust leak, the o2 sensor will try to compensate and may cause it to run different then normal.

P0441 OBD-II Trouble Code

P0441 - Evaporative Emission Control System Incorrect Purge Flow What this means - The code lets you know that part of the EVAP system is not functioning properly. The EVAP system contains many different parts, for example the gas cap, vacuum lines, carbon canister, purge valve, etc. The EVAP system keeps gas fumes from entering the atmosphere. Gas fumes run through a charcoal canister for storage. When the engine is running the purge control valve opens allowing engine vacuum to suck the gas fumes into the engine and burns it. If the PCM signals purge and sees that the switch is closed (indicating no detected purge flow) P0441 is set. This can be caused by a vacuum leak, stuck valve, bad wiring, bad PCM.

Jeep Grand Cherokee with dual temeprature

Question:
I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee with dual temperature controls for the driver and passenger. I noticed a few times that the heat did not appear to be working, since it was summer I ignored it but, it was a real problem. I took it to a shop and they said it was the thermostat that was sticking and replaced it. I got it back and the first two days it worked but not at perhaps 1/2 capacity, then nothing. As I inspected more closely, I found that the heat only operates on the passenger side and is dead cold on the driver side. What is causing this problem?
Answer:
This is a classic description of a failed Actuator on the flapper valve for hot and cold on drivers side. It is located deep in the dash and will require removal of the dash. You will need to have the actuator replaced. This will most likely need to be done at a dealer.

Ready to travel?

Now that we are in the middle of winter and have some tax return money in our pockets, I plan to take a vacation. And with flights to New Zealand so in-expensive who could pass up the oppertuninty to go over seas and see all the attractions. There are beaches, hot springs, ski resorts, walking trails, vineyards, lakes, whales and dolphins and of course, the magnificent Lord of the Rings scenery. I plan to book my flights and hotels through http://www.dialaflight.com/ as you can even book your rental car all at the same place. And with myself being from out of town, I feel more comfortable booking the entire vacation through the same place. And yes, they even offer discounts for doing just that. That leaves me with more money to spend on gifts and souvenirs.

I let out some fluid when I changed my Brake Pads

Question:
I have a 1999 Ford Ranger 4.0L. I changed my brake pads. I let out some fluid so that I could push the pistons back in. How long and how much pumping of the brake will it take to get the pressure back up?
Answer:
When you let the fluid out, this let air in. You will have to bleed the brakes now. For future reference, you never have to let fluid out to get the piston back in under normal conditions. never, ever. You use a C-clamp or brake piston tool. Like the one pictured above. You should only need to bleed at the location you let the fluid out, so if you did this on both sides then you will need to bleed both sides.

Can I use E85 in my 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix?

Question:
I have a Pontiac and want to know if I can use flex fuel in it without modifications. If modifications are necessary, how $$ is involved?
Answer:
No. You can not use this type of fuel. E85 is designed fro flex fuel engines only. It would cost you more than $2,000 to be able to run this fuel. It would be cheaper to sell your car and buy the one you want.

2001 Santa Fe - Window Problem

Question: I need to repair the driver side window of my 2001 Santa Fe. It pitches forward when I try to put the window down. Where can I go to get instructions and hopefully pictures to go with them? I drove it over to the repair shop. They said, "yup, it's broke. Motor is fine. It's gonna be expensive." Answer: There are six screws holding the door panel in place: -- one in the inside door handle bezel-- remove the bezel -- one in the pull grip -- two in the front of the door panel -- two in the rear of the door panel. If you indeed have all these screws and the bezel removed, then the panel should snap loose from the door. It'll also be to your benefit to remove the triangular trim inside the mirror. It may require significant effort to get the door panel loose; the retaining clips are sometimes quite stubborn. Pull loose from the bottom first. Once the panel is loose, you'll need to slide it up and off the window sill. Once you've got the door panel off, check to see if the screws attaching the window glass to the regulator have come loose or out. This is the most frequent issue. The retaining clips are around the outer edges at the sides and bottom. You can usually slide your hand between the panel and the door enough to locate them by feel, they are plastic, and about the size of a pencil in diameter. I slide the clips between my four fingers so the clip is between them than pull.

Where are the spark plugs on a 2004 Kia Sorrento

Question: Where are the spark plugs located on a 2004 Kia Sorrento ? Answer: I'm assuming you've got the 3.5L V6? When you remove the upper intake there are two brackets on the back (five 12mm bolts, I think...) that need to be removed, as well as the readily visible ones on top, in order to lift it up. And once you get it loose be sure to put a rag or something over the intake ports; trust me... it can all go very wrong if you don't! Here's how I do it: -Pull the coils out on the front bank and change those first 'cause they're easy. -Remove air-box top and intake tube from throttle body as a unit by removing 10mm bolts in air-box and 10mm clamp on throttle body (unplug MAF sensor too) -Unbolt brackets from rear of upper intake (one of them actually has to come off...the one on the left, I think...). -Unplug all the assorted gizmos on the plenum, and the wiper motor plug (it's sort of in the way...). The connectors are all different so there's no worry about mixing them up... -Unbolt all of the visible 10mm bolts on top of the intake plenum that hold on ground wires and cable brackets, etc. -Undo the plenum bolts (12mm), keeping care not to lose the lock washers from the two nuts on either end (see above warning about using a rag to cover the intake ports). -As far as I can remember, you should now be able to lift the plenum up and to your right enough to get at the rear plugs. You shouldn't need to remove anything from the throttle body (cable, connectors, coolant lines...). It can be held up with a bungee cord or something. Or perhaps an assistant... -After changing plugs, assembly is reverse of removal. You can replace the gasket between the upper and lower intake if you wish, but it's metal and usually in quite good condition. I think that's all there is... I've done a few, but it's been a couple of months since the last one.

The Ultimate Beauty

The first thing that comes to my mind when I read the title of this blog is an Awesome Muscle Car. And I immediately start looking for pictures of this Stylish Beast. We spend so much time working on our cars and keeping them clean with the occasional wax and polish that we sometimes forget about ourselves. I know I have spent more time lately working on keeping my ride clean inside and out and spend little time on myself. Well you can guess by now what I am leading up to. That's right, I am blogging about skin care ! OK, before you go running for the hills take it from a fellow car enthusiast, appearance is important. Washing your face and skin are a good thing but it should just start there. You need to do more than just wash your face and skin. This day and age with all the chemicals and toxins in the air you need to treat your face and skin. And when it comes to myself its no different than my car. I want the best there is. So I look to what the professional recommend and it has to be dermatologist-tested for me to even consider it. I have taken the time to check out the Clarifying line and looked at the products that they offer and they are in fact dermatologist-tested. In fact they are dermatologist-tested and recommended. When BORBA Nutraceuticals partner up with BORBA Cosmeceuticals your skin’s inner and outer needs get treated synergistically. Results from one enhance results from the other and vice versa. And visitors who spend $100 or more can get a $25 free gift; see details here: http://www.borba.com/skincareproducts.aspx

What Should I Pay for a Fuel Pump Repair

Question:
What is a fair rate to pay for a fuel pump repair to a personal person who is fixing my Ford 1993 Taurus ? The battery is what we thought it was because it would not start and someone is now replacing the fuel pump but I want to know what is the fair amounrt to pay for the repair to a personal repairer .
Answer:
That is a good question. There are two different pumps that might be required do this will influence the price. One Requires a fuel pump with brass outlet tubes. The replacement cost at my shop for this would be : $262.50. The other type is plastic out let tubes and would cost : $337.50. These numbers include parts and labor. The labor portion is based on 2 hours at $75.00 per hour. So if you are providing the parts I would say $150.00 plus parts for a shop or $100.00 for a home mechanic.

Lexus - Chirping or Squealing Noise

Owners of 2001-04 GS 430s and LS 430s, in addition to 2002-04 SC 430 models , may complain of an obnoxious chirping or squealing from the engine bay when the engine is initially started. One likely cause for the noise, says Lexus, is serp belt slippage at the pulleys, idlers or tensioner. A new-design accessory drive belt with a different rubber compound and superior rib design should help eliminate the noise immediately. The new belt goes by Part No. 90916-02586 for the GS and LS, 90916-02584 for the SC.

ENGINE IS KNOCKING BAD

Question: 2000 FORD ESCORT 2.0 L4 PFI SOHC V8 ENGINE IS KNOCKING BAD. GOT REALLY LOW ON OIL A FEW MONTHS BACK, SO THERE MUST BE INTERNAL DAMAGE. CAR IS STILL RUNNING, NO LEAKS, BUT CONSTANT KNOCKING NOW. SHOULD I REPLACE WHOLE ENGINE, BUY ANOTHER VEHICLE? TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHICH WAY IS CHEAPEST. Answer: You are right in thinking the engine is bad, but one way to confirm that it is internal is to remove the serpentine belt and start the engine, if the noise goes away then this means your tensioner, water pump, alternator may be the cause of the knock. If the noise continues with the belt off, then you have confirmed that the damage is internal. As for making the right choice on replacing the engine. You would first want to review your plans for the car. Having a junk yard install a used engine might look like the cheapest route to take but you will want to consider the warranty. Most give you a 6 month warranty... not to good in my opinion. Or you could have a Jasper engine http://jasperengines.com installed that comes with a 3 year/100,000 mile parts and labor warranty. It costs much more but you can rely on the engine for years. So if you are planning on selling the car in a couple of months , then the used engine is the route to take. If you are planning on keeping this car for a long time, I would have a new engine installed. If you hate the car even before it went south.... Buy another car.

P0410 OBD-II Trouble Code

P0410 - Secondary Air Injection System Malfunction What this means - The P0410 code refers to the emissions system. The AIR pump puts air to the exhaust to lower emissions. It takes in outside air and pumps it through two one-way check valves into each bank of the exhaust. About 90% of the time that this code is set, the one-way check valves have worn out or failed and allow water (which occurs naturally in the exhaust) back into the pump. In any cold climate, especially in climates with higher humidity, this water may be more excessive. The water partially fills the AIR pump, it can then freeze. When the PCM commands the pump on, if the pump is frozen it cannot turn, thus overloading the circuit and "popping" the fuse. Resource - http://www.obd-codes.com/p0410

Vibration at 45 mph

Customers Problem: I have a 2003 Chevy S-10 Extreme that vibrates bad at 45 mph or faster. It also makes a noise all the time, like a rubbing noise. Solution and Actual Repair: I started to test drive the vehicle and didn't make it out of the parking lot. The noise was so bad I was afraid i might get stuck on the road somewhere. So, i pulled the S-10 in the shop and raised it up in the air for further inspection. I rotated the rear wheels to listen for the noise and quickly could tell it was coming from the drive shaft. Turns out it had never been greased and broke the drive shaft knuckle. Ordered one from the dealer and installed it. No more noise and no more vibration. But the cost was $1100.00 just for the part !!! WOW.... If you own one , you had better grease the drive shaft!!!!!

My Heater Doesn't Work

Customer's Problem:
I have a 1992 Dodge Caravan and I have no heat. It does not loose anti-freeze and has no leaks. It does not over heat or run any different than normal. Could it be a thermostat ?
Solution :
I check the coolant levels in the radiator and over flow to confirm the customers story. I have found that sometimes a customer does not check the radiator and think if the over flow tank is full then the radiator must be full, this is not always the case. But after checking I found both to be full. I ran the engine to normal operating temperature. I then check the temperature of the upper and lower radiator hoses to make sure the thermostat was opening and circulating. And it was. At this point I checked to make sure both heater hoses were hot to eliminate the idea of a clogged heater core. It checked out OK. I then checked the only thing left. The flapper valve for hot and cold. Found the cable broken between the flapper valve and the control head. Customer did not want to spend the money for the repair and chose to have the flapper set to hot manually and left there as the A/C did not work anyway. Customer Happy!

Hybrids - Here to stay?

Hybrids are still niche vehicles, but at their current rate of growth, they could dominate the roads in another five or 10 years. U.S. hybrid sales jumped more than 34 percent to a total of 338,851 in 2007, according to CNW Marketing Research in Bandon, Ore. The only other vehicle segment that grew faster than hybrids in 2007 was what CNW calls “budget cars.” Sales of these small, inexpensive models, which include the Chevrolet Aveo, Honda Fit, and Toyota Yaris, grew at an astonishing rate of nearly 48 percent.
With rising gas prices and higher fuel economy standards mandated by the federal government, analysts expect hybrid technology to proliferate in the coming years. With new models entering the market and their popularity expected to rise, CNW predicts that 1.1 million hybrids will be sold annually by 2010. To help soften the financial blow and spur sales, the federal government provides an income tax credit for buyers of hybrid vehicles. This credit can be as much as $3,000 .

Sample portion of an Article for weight loss: Until recently, a person was thought to be obese if he or she weighed at least 20% more than his or her ideal body weight. However, tables that give a person's ideal body weight based on his or her height (ideal body weight tables) are no longer commonly used by doctors. Ideal body weight tables have been replaced by the body mass index (BMI). The BMI is also based on your height and weight, but it gives a better (but not perfect) estimate than the older ideal body weight tables of whether a person has too much body fat. Many people in the United States have too much fat on their bodies. However, they may not have enough extra fat to be obese. The BMI can estimate whether you have a healthy weight, are overweight, or are so overweight that you are obese.

Maine Lemon Law Information

The Maine Lemon Law applies when, during the first three (3) years, 18,000 miles or the end of the manufacturer warranty (whichever occurs first) following delivery of a new vehicle: 1) the dealer has attempted to repair the same problem three (3) or more times, or 2) the dealer has attempted at least one repair of a serious failure of either the braking or steering system, or 3) the vehicle has been out of service for repairs at the dealership for a cumulative total of 15 or more business days (any days that the service department of an authorized dealer is open for business). If the vehicle defect is so serious that you cannot wait (e.g., a safety problem) you do not necessarily have to meet the repair attempts standard. However, you must give the manufacturer at least one opportunity to repair and then a "final opportunity to repair." Once the manufacturer or authorized dealer has not been able to repair the substantial defect, and the problem continues or recurs, you must contact the manufacturer in writing and state that you want a refund or replacement and that you will give the manufacturer one final repair opportunity, of at least seven business days, to fix the defect. For the Maine Lemon Law to apply, the defect must substantially impair the vehicle's use, value, or safety, and must not have been caused by owner negligence, accident, vandalism, or have resulted from an unauthorized repair or alteration of the vehicle by a person other than the manufacturer, its agents or authorized dealers.

The Secret to Being Happy

'The Sedona Method is a key to happiness and is part of a wave of happiness sweeping the planet.' Learn how The Sedona Method is the secret to mastering The Secret and Being Truly Happy. A little history of the Sedona Method: In 1952, Lester Levenson fell critically ill. His doctors informed him that he had only a few weeks to live. Lester turned to the laboratory within, seeking a way to revoke his pending death sentence. What he discovered in his exploration was that by releasing his non-love feelings, his health began to improve. Continuing with this experiment, he found that over a 3-month period, he had attained not only renewed health but actually perfect health and perfect peace of mind which lasted 42 years beyond his doctors’ expectations. It was from this state of mind, as well as his working with people over a 22-year period, that he inspired the creation in 1974 of what is now known as The Sedona Method. 1998 Chevrolet K1500

Question:
Hello, I have a 1998 Chevrolet K1500. I noticed what seems to be valve clatter, high oil pressure of 80 on the gauge and about half the radiator antifreeze was gone. the oil does not look milky I just changed it to see if coolant was in it.
Answer:
The low coolant and the chatter are most likely not related. The low coolant is probably the lower intake manifold gasket...EXTREMELY common. A coolant system pressure test can prove this. As for the clatter, this is most likely a collapsed lifter which is also common for the Chevy.
80 psi is normal for this engine. Once the engine oil gets some age on it, it may come down some. An engine requires 10 psi of oil pressure for every 1,000 rpm.. so 80 is excellent. 0 is bad. My 2006 z71 reads 80 psi all the time....and i am happy about it.

When I stop at a light, my car shudders?

Question: I have a 2000 Jaguar S type V8 and When I stop at a light, my car shudders, What could be the cause? Could gas be the problem. I''m using medium grade. Also, I just had a tune up last week when I replaced all four tires. Answer: Was this problem there before you had the tune up ?? if not, I think one of the plug wires probably did not get fastened securely. Response: I took it back to the shop that did the tune up and they found a wire had come off. Thanks for all your help!!

Vacation Tours

It has been several years ago that my girlfriend and I had gone on what I consider the most romantic vacation I have ever had. In fact we enjoyed it so much that we went back for our honeymoon. So for the where was it? Niagara Falls was our chosen vacation and honeymoon location. We found all kinds of things to do in Niagara Falls . The amount of sites to see at the"Greatest Wonder of the World" are endless. You can hear the soft roar of the never ending waterfall throughout the day and night keeping a certain warm feeling of calmness throughout the entire time we were there. We even went on a cruise on the Maid of the Mist, yes we got wet but it was well worth the ability to get up close and personal with this wondrous site. You board the safety of a cruise ship that has plenty of hand holds throughout the ship. The ship then motors you right up the bottom of the falls. As you get sprayed by the monsters mist they explain history of the falls and how it got its name. The entire time your excitement is raging and you are clutching onto each other to make sure the mist doesn't carry you off. The Jacuzzi was that was waiting for us back in the hotel room was definitely something to look forward to in the evenings. Trusted Tours & Attractions had plenty of activities ready for us to choose from and now they have a special promotion where a person can win a digital camera by signing up for their newsletter. You will have a chance of winning a Canon PowerShot digital camera. This might be one of the best family vacation ideas for us once our baby is born.

Rear Brakes - Ford Tarus

Question:
I have a Ford Taurs 1993 3.0 v6, How do I replace the rear brake pads?? The center piston will not press in.
Answer:
You need a special tool to turn the pistons inward .
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION 1) Remove the master cylinder cap and check the fluid level in the reservoir. Remove brake fluid as necessary until the reservoir is half full. Discard the removed fluid.
2) Raise and safely support the vehicle. 3) Remove the wheel and tire assembly. 4) Remove the screw retaining the brake hose bracket to the shock absorber bracket. Remove the retaining clip from the parking brake cable at the caliper. Remove the cable end from the parking brake lever. 5) Hold the slider pin hex-head with an open-end wrench. Remove the upper rear brake pin retainer/pinch bolt. Rotate the caliper away from the rotor.
6) Remove the inner and outer brake pads from the rear disc support bracket/anchor plate.
To install: 1)Using Rear Caliper Piston Adjuster T87P-2588-A or equivalent, rotate the piston and adjuster clockwise until it is fully seated. Make sure one of the two slots in the piston face is positioned so it will engage the nib on the brake pad.
2) Install the inner and outer brake pads in the anchor plate/support bracket. Rotate the caliper assembly over the rotor into position on the anchor plate/support bracket. Make sure the brake pads are installed correctly. 3) Remove the residue from the rear brake pin retainers/pinch bolt threads, then apply one drop of Threadlock and Sealer E0AZ-19554-AA or equivalent to the threads. Install and tighten the retainers to 23-26 ft. lbs. (31-35 Nm) while holding the slider pins with an open-end wrench. 4) Attach the cable end to the parking brake lever. Install the cable retaining clip on the caliper assembly. Position the flexible brake hose and bracket assembly to the shock absorber bracket, then install the retaining screw. Tighten the screw to 8-11 ft. lbs. (11-16 Nm). 5) Install the wheel and tire assembly, then carefully lower the vehicle. Pump the brake pedal prior to moving the vehicle to position the brake linings. Refill the master cylinder.

Air Filter - How Often Should I Replace

To decide if your air filter should to be changed remove the air filter housing retainer clips or screws and remove the filter. Put the filter between a bright light and your site of vision. If you can not see light though the filter, then air isn't going to be able to pass though it either. It is time to replace the filter. Imagine the amount of air processed through your engine in the course of driving 3,000 miles. If you choose an inferior style air filter you are allowing dirt particles to enter your engine which cause premature wear and could lead to catastrophic engine failure. It is a good idea to make checking your air filter a habit at each oil service.

Here is where First Time Buyer Mortgage comes in. Traditionally mortgage lenders would expect a deposit of at least 10% before offering reasonable mortgage terms in return. It doesn't matter want financial situation you are in they have a loan type that you can get into even with bad credit. It is understandable, however, that mortgage companies inevitably take some added risk into consideration, and loan rates may not always be the same of those for lenders with unblemished credit history. Even those with a poor or bad credit history will succeed in finding a lender who will agree satisfactory terms with regard to repayment.

Front Brakes

Question: I have a 2000 Pontiac Bonneville with a 3800 engine it has 62,000 miles on it. Three days ago I had my rotors turned and brake pads replaced on the front , rotors replaced on the rear. I noticed a major squeak or chirp in the brakes. When I pressed the brake the squeal or chirp would go away. Also when I turned to the right the noise would go away. If I drive straight or turn to the left it is a loud squeal or chirp chirp chirp chirp chirp. I also hear something rubbing at very low speeds. I called the shop that did the brake job and they said the new rotors needed to seat themselves and that I should drive it for awhile. I know I am single mom but I am not stupid, I know when something is wrong with my vehicle. What is your advice on what I should Do? Answer: The brake pads that were installed were most likely aftermarket pads; in other words, not from the original manufacturer of your car. As to the intermittent chirping sound, have the brake rotors checked to make sure that they are running true...that they were machined properly. And have the backing plates checked for any signs of rubbing. It is a common issue for the backing plates to unintentionally get slightly bent during a brake job. The baking plates are very thin pieces of sheet metal and bend easy.

Dodge Ram 1500- Engine Dies While Driving

Vehicle Problem: Vehicle was towed in to shop. Customer complained of engine would die while driving and now would not start at all. 1996 Dodge Ram 1500, 5.2L V-8 engine, Automatic Transmission

Solution: As with most No Start situations that come into my shop we start with checking the basic 4 elements needed to make an engine run. 1) Spark 2) Fuel (including fuel pressure and injector pulse) 3) Compression 4) Timing We found that we had weak spark and intermittent fuel injector pulse. Since the plugs looked old and the distributor cap had signs of corrosion, I replaced the Distributor cap, rotor, plugs and wires. We now had good spark. The vehicle would start and run and then die. Since it would start, I now look to the sensor side of the engine. No Check engine light on the dash and no hard codes were set, but after checking the soft codes(history codes) it had a Crank Sensor Code. Replaced the Crank Position Sensor and the vehicle ran great unless you put it under heavy acceleration and then took your foot completely off the gas. A quick test on the IAC let me know it needed replaced. Replaced IAC and All is back to normal. Customer Happy ! Parts and Labor Cost $ 600.00 plus tax.

Michigan Lemon Law Information

The Michigan Lemon Law applies when, during the first two (2) years (with restrictions - see below) following delivery of a new vehicle: 1)the dealer has attempted to repair the same problem four (4) or more times, with the first repair attempt occurring during the first year, or 2)the vehicle has been out of service for repairs at the dealership for a cumulative total of 30 or more calendar days occurring during the first year. You should provide the manufacturer with a "last chance letter" (certified mail, return receipt), preferably before the 4th repair attempt or before the expiration of the 30-day period. If the manufacturer warranty requires that you enter into a mediation process, and that mediation process conforms to Federal Trade Commission regulations (many do not), you must go through that first before filing a lawsuit. The outcome of the mediation process is never binding for the consumer - if you are unhappy with the outcome, you may always file a lawsuit afterward.

Nissan Murano - 2009

$26,330 for the S model $27,880 for the SL model $35,910 for the LE model The new Murano is not that much different from the old one, which was a phenomenal success for Nissan. As before, the Murano is based on the Altima platform, which itself was reworked just last year. There's still no third-row seat, which is fine, because the Murano is for people who really want a five-passenger luxury crossover - not a minivan substitute - but who don't want to spend Infiniti or Lexus money. With spiffy new options like heated, power-folding rear seats; a power liftgate; an extra-large glass moonroof; and a 9.3-gig music hard drive, it's not like Murano buyers will feel deprived. Unless, that is, they are hoping for a measure of sportiness - that's what the Infiniti FX and new EX35 are for. The Murano has decent body control, but it can feel a bit floaty. As for the light steering, the main message it communicates is that it would prefer you drive in a straight line. The brakes are strong, though, ride quality is fine, and the familiar VQ-series V-6 and Nissan's second-generation Xtronic continuously variable transmission ought to get Murano owners to the Nordstrom clearance sale in plenty of time. Yes, that slightly odd CVT thrum reverberates through the vehicle as you press the accelerator, but the power delivery is smooth, consistent, and very strong. Maybe too strong: we averaged only 19 mpg in mostly freeway driving in our all-wheel-drive test car.

Shipito.com

There’s an interesting site that I’ve run across that offers a very intriguing service. Shipito.com is a website that you can use to set up a virtual address and mail forwarding. If you already have, or are looking to start an online e-commerce site, you will probably need space to store your products. Instead of just using a spare room or whatever you can come up with, you can use their service and have them store your products for you. They will also mail them out for you. It’s an interesting way for small start-up companies to get access to much needed storage space and essentially an employee to handle the shipping of products. The site has a phone number you can call if you need to talk to an actual person to get help. You could also use this service if you’re an international customer and would like to purchase things from online stores that don’t ship internationally. You can shop in the U.S.A. and have packages mailed to Europe. If this is the case, then you can set up one of these virtual addresses and have them forward things to you. It’s a need which this site is attempting to solve. From their website, that doesn’t have any setup fee but requires an annual fee of $50. You would then also pay whatever the actual shipping charges are plus $5.50 for every mail out. It seems like a some what simple process and would prove very useful for people in the above mentioned situations. I’m sure there are many other situations where this service could be used as well. Check the site out if you think it’s something you could use or just want to learn more.
